The Hamadryas Baboon (Papio hamadryas) is a baboon from the Old World monkey family. It is the northernmost of all the baboons; its range extends from the Red Sea in Egypt to Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. Baboons are also native to and live in Southwestern Arabia, especially in Yemen. The mountains of Yemen and the horn of Africa make it a great place for the baboons live, where predators are not as common as in central Africa. The Hamadryas Baboon was a sacred animal to the ancient Egyptians as the attendant of Thoth, and so, is also called the Sacred Baboon.

This rather beautiful African Gray which I believe he is was housed in a very large aviary a very short distance from the the lions. The parrot would roar albeit weakly then Mr Lion would roar, then the parrot would nicely say good morning. I Look Better Viewed large

Father takes last photo of boy who is attacked and killed by Lion

New York. A male Lion escapes from the Bronx zoo killing a chinese tourist.
The father of the victim took this last photo of his son before the horrible attack right before his eyes.
The father and a couple bystanders tried hitting the Lion with branches during the attack but to no avail.
The boy died a few minutes later due to puncture wounds to his neck. The animal was later shot by a police officer.
